New Year's Eve

We met Paul's family in Omaha at the Settle Inn in Bellevue on Dec 31 and left on Jan 2. It was a wonderful stay with family. The hotel has themed suites but the one we like best is the Presidential Suite because it has a California King bed and fold out couch plus a very spacious room with microwave and fridge. http://www.settleinn.com/bellevue-settle-inn.html
We had fun with Paul's parents (Claire and Jim) and his sister and her family (Cassie, Doug, Alyssa and Ben). We moved furniture around amongst rooms so we could play cards and Mexican Train (is the politically incorrect or what?) It is actually a game of dominos that is super fun.
All the persons under 18 had a wonderful time swimming in the pool. We ate great food! Thanks Cassie for bringing your kitchen to Omaha!
I can now say we made our first Martha Stewart recipe. It is a shot of orange liquor with the champagne for a great New Year's drink. It was yummy and added a different taste to the usual champagne toast at midnight.
I picked up some nice sparkling "chablis" grape juice for all those under the age of 21 to ring in the New Year!
I hope and pray that 2009 brings more jobs, peace, and humility as we are in a deep recession. I also pray that the change of leadership will cause a new resurgence in the faith of the economy and market as well as a renewed growth and excitement that we all want for 2009!
Happy New Year!
