Here is Adele and her finished Science Fair project. It didn't go exactly as she had planned. She wanted talking notes which I had typed up for her. The judge wouldn't let her use them for her oral presentation so she forgot to mention her verse and do her demonstration with the flower.
But it was still a great experience - especially since it was optional. She was one of 4 1st graders who entered the Science Fair.
I went to DMCS http://www.dmcs.org/new/ that morning to help judge. I judged 5th grade Science projects. It is very interesting because you can definately see a big difference between the students who loved their topic and really got into the whole thing and the others who just entered because they had to.
I learned some great things about "the righting reflex" of cats, DC motors, bridges, and static electricity. Way to go 5th graders!
